Beginning January 23, LBCAP's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site will be open for the 2015 return filing season. To schedule an appointment for tax preparation, please call (562) 216-4600.
You can also prepare your own income taxes from the comfort of your home. Visit www.myfreetaxes.com, sponsored by United Way.
Both VITA and www.myfreetaxes.com are provided at no cost, and assists taxpayers with preparing their state and federal income tax returns and to claim valuable credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit, Retirement Savings Contribution Credit and Child Tax Credit.
At LBCAP, services are provided at the main office every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with appointments available from 10:00am to 7:30pm (hours vary by day). Appointments are also available for the following Saturdays: January 23 (LBCAP employees get priority scheduling through January 19); February 6; March 5; and April 9.
